IPMG Makes Two New Strategic Appointments

Australia’s largest privately owned marketing communications group appoints new Digital Chief Strategy Officer and Senior Marketing Executive

 

 

Australia’s largest privately owned marketing communications group has announced appointments into two newly created roles designed to promote the Group’s expanded capabilities in the cross-media space.  
 
Benoit Droulez has been appointed to the role of Digital Chief Strategy Officer to drive the growth of IPMG’s digital capabilities and Mei Koon to the role of Senior Marketing Executive to drive the group’s brand and marketing communications strategy. The appointments reflect IPMG’s increasing breadth of capabilities across a wide range of marketing communications solutions.
 
Droulez has been with IPMG for more than four years in the role of CEO of Sagemetrics, an IPMG Digital business based in Paris. Having relocated to Sydney, Droulez will play a leadership role in the expansion of digital capabilities within IPMG.
 
Koon is a marketing communications professional with more than 10 years’ global experience on both agency and client-side. In her new role, Koon will lead the development and execution of the group’s brand and marketing communications strategy for the overarching group, and provide strategic support to businesses within the group.

Benoit Droulez
With more than 14 years’ experience in commercial and operational management as well as solution provider experience on both client and supplier side in Digital Marketing, Ecommerce and Analytics, Droulez brings extensive experience in the platform space. His credentials include successfully launching the European and US entities of Ecommerce and analytic platform companies SageMetrics, CoreMetrics and Fredhopper.
 
Prior to this, Droulez was Director of Product Management at incubator @viso a Vivendi Universal / Softbank joint venture.  In this role, he was responsible for replicating the model of successful US internet brands in Europe, which included launching and establishing leading US online retailor, Buy.com’s operations across Europe.  He has also served as the Manager of Business Development for Disney Interactive in Europe, leveraging interactive media as a revenue generator from corporate strategic partners.
 
Mei Koon
Mei Koon has worked in Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Americas. She was most recently Director of Marketing Communications across Asia-Pacific for Media Monitors leading their brand refresh and driving their marketing strategy across ANZ and into the Asia market which covered Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and China.
 
Prior to that, Koon was Global Channel Marketing Manager for a division of the Shell Group – heading the channel marketing strategy for the Attraction division of the Group across over 30 countries, including web, mobile, social, print, outdoor, events and experiential channels. Concurrently, Koon held the division’s Regional Marketing Manager role for both Asia-Pacific and the Americas during her tenure as Global Channels lead.
