Nextra Australia appoints Tonnex International as sole preferred supplier
nextra

August 2nd will see the official launch of Tonnex International as the sole preferred supplier for computer consumables to Nextra Australia. The appointment comes as the result of The Nextra Group seeking to improve the service provided to their members and a concerted effort to grow this channel for their group.

The Nextra Group's National Business Development Manager, Rob Hunt commented that “ink and consumables have become a key core-growth category in the Newsagency channel and strategic relationships are needed to take this category to the next level”.

Tonnex attended Nextra’s Annual Conference on the Sunshine Coast in July, which was the medium for the announcement to members. “This event was a key opportunity to present Tonnex in our position as sole preferred supplier and to communicate how we will help drive Nextra’s growth in the channel” commented Tonnex National Marketing Manager, James Rendell.

Rendell believes that Tonnex are well positioned to work with both Nextra Head Office and Vendors such as HP, Epson and Brother to help maximise the computer consumables growth potential that exists in The Nextra Group. “We have for a long time now had a strong presence in the Newsagency channel and feel very confident that we are the right partner for Nextra to grow their presence in the computer consumables market” said Rendell.

Hunt is confident this new relationship with Tonnex will provide Nextra Group Members with the necessary support through higher margin and frequent promotions needed to compete with the Majors in this significant and growing product category in Newsagents.

According to Rendell, Tonnex have been dealing with a wide range of Nextra members for many years, however as Nextra previously did not have a preferred supplier, the relationship was at a singular store level. “We will still engage with members at a store level, however through working more closely with Head Office means we can also focus our efforts into areas that are of strategic importance to The Nextra Group which, in turn, will help ensure their continued growth in computer consumables sales” said Rendell.
