Main Customers
ProMarker is the affordable, high performance marker. It’s priced and positioned as an entry level marker for everyday use in a broad variety of creative pastimes. The key user groups for ProMarker are recreational artists and illustrators, and craft consumers wanting colour media for card making, rubberstamping, scrapbooking, etc. ProMarkers are also increasingly purchased by design students wanting a low-priced entry point marker to use alongside Letraset’s premium TRIA Marker brand.
Illustration
For colour illustration, ProMarker represents a convenient alternative to paint-based media. The flexibility of being able to overlay and blend colours, and the depth of texture and tone this offers, makes ProMarker an effective and highly portable substitute for paint. And once mastered, markers enable amazingly detailed, highly finished works to be created in a range of illustrative styles.
Craft
Craft is a growing market on a global scale, incorporating a wide range of popular activities like card making, rubberstamping, scrapbooking, etc. Colour application is a common requirement in all these activities and as a result ProMarker has become increasingly popular. The ability to easily overlay and blend uniform layers of colour on a variety of different art surfaces makes ProMarker a particular favourite with craft consumers.
Manga and Comic Art
ProMarker has successfully tapped in to the Manga and Comic Art phenomenon that’s swept across the western world in recent years. With their vibrant tones and superlative colour lay down, markers are a natural choice for Manga artists, and ProMarker has been widely adopted by the fan communities seeking to emulate the skills of their favourite comic artists and writers.
Students
Letraset’s roots in commercial design mean our markers are typically found on the supplies lists for popular academic courses in Product Design, Automotive Design, Fashion, Architecture, etc. Many design students gravitate toward Letraset’s premium Tria Marker range since it represents the ‘professional option’ and fits in with their career aspirations. However, ProMarker’s low price tag is also a natural pull for students and the result is that both brands are often used side by side.
Other Markets
ProMarker’s versatility in applying colour provides enormous scope in terms of potential market opportunities. Outside of the more conventional art-industry channels, ProMarkers have been widely used in all kinds of diverse activities, from fly-fishing through to furniture restoration.
Anywhere there’s a requirement for applying colour by hand to a variety of surfaces, there’s a potential application for ProMarker!
