The key achievement leading to Corporate Express‟ award win was the development and execution of a campaign to make sustainability easy for Australian businesses, including:

. Further enhancement of the Corporate Express EarthSaver certification criteria, which makes it simple for businesses to identify environmentally-preferable products, and expansion of the range from 600 products to 3,367 by the end of 2010.

. Development and launch of the Go Green Guide: For a Greener Workplace, a resource developed to support Australian businesses with tangible advice and practical tips alongside the largest range of more environmentally-preferable products in Australia. In total, 23,600 customers downloaded the online version or requested the hard copy guide.

. A national partnership with certification organisation GreenBizCheck to provide all of Corporate Express‟s 300,000+ customers with a free-of-charge „sustainability healthcheck‟ tool, which also delivered tailored action plans of tangible steps each business should take to improve their own sustainability.

Now in its sixth year, the Australian Business Awards program recognises organisations that demonstrate the core values of business excellence, product excellence, corporate responsibility, sustainability and commercial success in their respective industries. A total of 103 recipients were honoured from the 928 organisations that participated in the 2011 Awards.

Award entries were evaluated in accordance with the award criteria across seven main areas including leadership and strategy, impact on industry, adaptability and sustainability, human resource management, customer relationship management, process management and evidence of success.
