HP ePrints bring smiles to children over Easter and contribute $100,000 to the Good Friday Appeal

Donation powered by HP ePrint technology to support The Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne

Hewlett-Packard (HP) recently announced it has donated $100,000 to the Good Friday Appeal as part of the HP ePrintforthekids Program.

People across Victoria were able to participate in this year’s Good Friday Appeal by using HP ePrint technology to send messages of support to the patients and their families at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. Thousands of photos were received by email and were printed via HP ePrint technology during Channel 7’s live telethon on Friday, 22 April, each of those contributing to HP’s overall $100,000 donation.

“We were overwhelmed with the amount of photos printed on the ePrintforthekids wall on Good Friday,” said Christine Unsworth, Executive Director from the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal. “This was an interactive way for people of all ages to use technology to send their well-wishes to the children. Watching the wall grow throughout the day truly showcased the generosity of Victorians.”
A range of HP ePrint-enabled printers were installed in the Channel 7 studios in Melbourne. Images shared via email from around the state, country and world were automatically printed out on-site using HP ePrint technology at Etihad Stadium, where the annual Good Friday Appeal telecast was held, and was posted on the Good Friday Appeal HP ePrintforthekids wall live during throughout the day(1).

“HP’s ePrint technology which allows users to print just by sending an email, provided a new, engaging method for fundraisers and supporters of the Good Friday Appeal to get personally involved in this year’s telethon,” said Richard Bailey, Vice-President, Imaging and Printing Group, HP South Pacific. “We are immensely proud to make this donation for such a worthy cause and hope to continue to share our innovative technology in support of the Good Friday Appeal in the future.”
